Summer Time = Grilling Time

Alright y’all, my favorite time of year is upon us… and all this sunshine! There are a few things that summer means for me: Sunshine, No Snow, and Grilling Out!

I know, I know… it’s only “spring”… but I am going to share with you my favorite meal that involve the grill! So, prepare to be amazed at the super, simple (because that is always how I roll) recipe that is super tasty! However, before we get there, I’m going to tell you that I absolutely prefer a gas grill vs. a charcoal grill. Gas grills are easier to control your heat/temperature and you won’t stress all night about hot coals burning the neighborhood down. I’m not the only one that does that, right??

Here is my biggest tip:

Always start with a clean grill. Always. I will start the grill, set it to the desired temperature, and let it warm up. Before you get too excited, don’t reach for that grill brush! Yeah, you heard right! NO grill brush! Have you seen what those things are made of? Better yet, have you heard the horror stories? Well, this girl is not getting one of those little metal bristles in her body and puncturing an internal organ. Instead, grab a good size amount of aluminum foil. Crumple it up a bit and throw an oven mitt on. Scrub those now warm grates with the aluminum foil. It works like a dream! Just be careful not to burn yourself!!

Now, I wouldn’t be a Sassy, Southern Grillin’ Momma without a good Steak recipe! This is always a favorite and it’s mostly because of the marinade!

Just make sure that you lightly brush the olive oil on the zucchini and yellow squash. We don’t want any fires now!!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Let me know your favorite summer grill dish in the comments below!

  1. I love love love grilling out!! We have a gas grill but we prefer a charcoal grill! My husband’s dad has a charcoal grill and we love it. However, it takes longer to cook and sometimes I can be impatient lol!

  2. Oh how I miss grilling out in Wisconsin! Since I’ve been living in California I have not grilled out, only once, and that’s because my aunt from Wisconsin was visiting and she knows how to cook. I really need to teach myself how to grill, your post definitely helps! Thanks for sharing!
